Community Partners

Four Roots and our projects are made possible through our dedicated community partners.

Organizational Partners

In our journey to foster a more sustainable and connected food system, we've been fortunate to collaborate with exceptional organizational partners. With deep gratitude, we extend our appreciation to these valued partners who share our vision for a healthier and more resilient Eastern Washington

Roots 4 More Foundation

Founded by Brittany and Lisette, the Roots 4 More Foundation was born from a community's call for more comprehensive programming opportunities in tandem with Four Roots. Our mission is to cultivate a more resilient and interconnected food system in Eastern Washington and the Inland Northwest. We support small, sustainable agriculture, assist new and transitioning farmers, provide educational opportunities for all ages, offer small business resources, and advocate for the rights of farmers, ranchers, and producers. With plans to function as a land trust, we aim to secure land perpetuity and conserve agricultural lands in the region, while also developing industry-specific grant and scholarship programs for emergency response and market participation. Join us in nurturing a sustainable future.

CASCADIA PRODUCE

Cascadia Produce, a dedicated wholesale food business, is a valued collaborator that shares our vision for a more resilient and sustainable food system in the Pacific Northwest. They work alongside local Washington State farms, non-profit community groups, government programs, and small businesses to combat food insecurity and provide affordable access to culturally relevant, high-quality food. In addition to their substantial efforts, Cascadia Produce actively fosters connections within the food industry and partners with Four Roots to host events, such as an Eastern Washington-based farmer purchasing forum in Spring 2023. They also diligently seek funding opportunities that align with our shared goals, further enhancing our commitment to building a better food future.

CHARLIE’S PRODUCE

Charlie's Produce is a vital partner for Four Roots, providing a steady supply of fresh, high-quality produce in the Pacific Northwest. Aligned in our mission, we both prioritize innovation and sustainability. As an employee-owned company, Charlie's shares our commitment to empowering their team and fostering a supportive work environment. They work closely with our procurement team to source local produce, expanding our seasonal variety without overtaxing transportation. A longstanding partner, Charlie's consistently supports our small business and diverse projects, making them a fantastic and community-minded collaborator.

VETS ON THE FARM

Four Roots is deeply committed to supporting programs like Vets on the Farm, which mirror our dedication to the well-being and growth of our veterans. As a veteran-owned company, we understand the significance of offering opportunities for veterans seeking new missions and transitioning into civilian life, particularly in fields like agriculture, farming, ranching, and conservation-based industries.

Washington State WeFedWA

The Washington State Department of Agriculture's We Feed WA program plays a vital role in supporting our community, particularly those facing temporary poverty and food scarcity. Through partnerships with local food producers, farmers, ranchers, processors, distributors, and hunger relief organizations, it provides emergency food assistance to socially disadvantaged communities. Initially launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this pilot program remains an ongoing, albeit scaled-down, source of support for our communities, continuing to make a significant impact.

Hydroponic Partners… Thank you for your support!

Darfus and Crystal Moore have been invaluable contributors to Four Roots, previously supplying our boxes with microgreens from We Do Moore LLC. Darfus, a former employee of Four Roots, seamlessly transitioned from a decades-long career as a commercial truck driver to serve as our secondary driver. Their shared focus on providing community opportunities in education and agriculture has been a driving force in our mission. Additionally, they play an integral role as part of the board with the Roots 4 More Foundation, further strengthening our commitment to cultivating a better future.

Spokane Conservation District

The partnership with the Spokane Conservation District is vital to Four Roots. This collaboration makes the Scale House Market possible and is set to have a profound impact on our community. This year-round market, equipped with cold storage and a community kitchen, will revolutionize access to fresh, locally grown food. By fostering connections between farmers and consumers, including those in rural and outlying areas, it promises to strengthen our region's food system and economy, creating a sustainable and vibrant future for Spokane and its farmers. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project that promises to transform the way we eat and connect.
