Cultivating Agricultural Knowledge, Growing Stronger Communities.

Grow Your Knowledge

Join Four Roots as we learn and explore Alternative Farming together. While exploring hydroponics, we're uncovering innovative and efficient ways to produce our own food. This project is dedicated to innovation and sustainability, delivering hydroponics knowledge to Spokane families. We want farming to be approachable, accessible, and comprehensible, providing our families with a clearer understanding of agricultural practices. Through workshops and talks featuring local experts, we're cultivating a community of informed individuals prepared to shape a greener future.

Impact Through Education

Education is key to a brighter, more sustainable future. At Four Roots, we believe that grasping the fundamentals of hydroponics is the first step toward making at-home producers a reality. In many ways, we are reverting back to our roots as we connect with the understanding of nature and agriculture. Witnessing the benefits of hydroponic farming will empower families to explore and reap the rewards of growing their own produce. Not every farmer requires vast acres; hydroponics opens doors for families to become producers. Our vision extends to future generations, fostering an understanding of the importance of nutrient-dense, fresh foods and how they can positively impact both physical and mental health.

Our Downtown Spokane Farm

Situated in the heart of downtown Spokane, Four Roots has built an alternative farming facility from the ground up. Each hydroponic system within our facility was handcrafted, a labor of dedication by our Four Roots team members with the help of other local professionals. The precision and care put into crafting these systems helped our team to learn and understand the importance of certain practices so that in the future we can share this knowledge with aspiring alternative farmers.

Our devoted staff spends their days immersed in learning the specific cycles and needs of plants.

When do we need to add nutrients?

When do they need to be transferred to another system?

Why are these leaves wilting?

These are all questions that they faced and conquered, continuing to learn and read our plants every day. Whether it's identifying signs of plant health or making necessary adjustments, our team is here to empower others.

While not all family-style hydroponic farms need to reach the scale of our facility, we've taken it to the next level to truly comprehend and efficiently produce quality crops. This dedication extends to our NiceBox retail boxes, where the fruits of our labor reach local tables, offering a taste of sustainable, homegrown goodness.

Beyond Hydroponic Education

Four Roots is committed to making farming accessible. This commitment extends to professional farmers, providing business education to ensure our agricultural community thrives. We want to bridge the gap between food production and consumption. Whether you choose to produce at home or shop at the store, we aim to impart a deeper appreciation for the journey of each crop – from the hands of hardworking farmers to the tables of our local community. Understanding the nuances of farming, distinguishing between organic and non-organic options, and appreciating the dedication of farmers as true artisans – this is the knowledge we strive to share, fostering a connection between consumers and the roots of their food.
